Jeta Xharra was born in Skopje on March 2, 1978. During the war, she worked as a fixer/local producer for BBC News and Channel 4. Later, she worked for the Foreign News Planning Desk at the BBC World Service, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, and in 2005 she was a co-founder of Balkan Investigative Reporting Network.  She completed an MA in War Studies at King’s College London (2000) and gained a distinction for an MA in Screenwriting from the London College of Printing (2002). An award-winning journalist, Xharra is currently the Director of Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) in Kosovo and the founder and producer of the Museum Reporting House, as well as a leading anchor and editor of the Kosovo Public TV primetime show “Life in Kosovo.”
