Nj\u00eb kryengritje e till\u00eb ishte e pritshme sepse kishte zemrim nga dhuna e vazhdueshme e administrat\u00ebs s\u00eb udh\u00ebhequr nga serb\u00ebt dhe gjendja e r\u00ebnd\u00eb politike dhe ekonomike e Kosov\u00ebs n\u00eb Jugosllavi. Protesta e par\u00eb e shqiptar\u00ebve n\u00eb vitin 1968 u organizua n\u00eb Prizren, duke k\u00ebrkuar universitet dhe njohje t\u00eb gjuh\u00ebs shqipe si gjuh\u00eb zyrtare, si dhe t\u00eb drejta t\u00eb barabarta me popujt e tjer\u00eb jugosllav. Protesta m\u00eb e madhe ishte n\u00eb Prishtin\u00eb, ku nj\u00eb protestues u vra dhe shum\u00eb u plagos\u00ebn.
