{"id":11270,"date":"2017-10-10T19:23:54","date_gmt":"2017-10-10T19:23:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oralhistorykosovo.org\/?page_id=11270\/"},"modified":"2017-10-10T19:23:54","modified_gmt":"2017-10-10T19:23:54","slug":"te-huajt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oralhistorykosovo.org\/sq\/hulumtime\/te-huajt\/","title":{"rendered":"T\u00eb &#8220;huajt&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u00a0took Georg Simmel\u2019s notion of \u201cstranger,\u201d who \u201ccomes today and stays <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_582925950\"><span class=\"aQJ\">tomorrow<\/span><\/span>,\u201d the potential wanderer, who, \u201calthough he has gone no further, has not quite got over the freedom of coming and going,\u201d &#8211; to better identify those natives of other countries who came to Kosovo especially after 1999, and lived in Kosovo for an extended period of time, and\/or currently live in Kosovo. They are officials of international institutions, staff of non-governmental organizations, business people, journalists, teachers, etc.\u00a0They are commonly known as &#8220;the internationals.&#8221;\u00a0They are not simply foreigners, they are part of Kosovo itself: they participate in local life in different fields and varying positions of power, and they are also co-creators, with Kosovars, of a transnational space which is\u00a0cultural, social and political.\u00a0In the words of Simmel, they are not unlike \u201cinner enemies,\u201d\u00a0whose membership within the Kosovo society involves both being outside and confronting it.
